Royal Ascot is nearly upon us again. It's a special occasion so a gentleman should only wear a black silk vintage top hat at Ascot. A
grey one makes you look like a doorman of a cheap Eastern European
hotel.
The traditional black silk top hat is no longer manufactured and all our stock is, therefore, vintage. We scour the country for suitable hats. In order to ensure our customers are supplied with the highest quality product all our hats are properly reconditioned and returned to first class condition. John Cugley of Vintage Toppers, a SCOTSIN member, is a regular in the Royal Enclosure at Ascot and has an encyclopaedic knowledge of black silk top hats and has often contributed to Jeff Banks' BBC interludes on fashion and etiquette at Ascot.
