Why is it that we can visit other European countries and find a nice selection of malt whiskies and not in England?, outside London that is! Well, fear not as things about to change. In fact they are already changing with the addition of the eighth "Malt Whisky Centre" to the Hutcheson Whisky Events outlets portfolio.

Have you ever wondered why when visiting other European countries you can often find a nice selection of malt whisky but not in England?, outside London that is!

Fear not as this is all about to change. Hutcheson Whisky Events has single headedly spent the past two years promoting high quality malt whiskies around Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire introducing this ‘Water of Life’ to new whisky drinkers and educating palates to its wondrous diversity. This has mainly been achieved through tastings, county fairs and food festivals, most notably The Henley Food Festival.

The next evolutionary step for this process has already started and takes the form of ‘Malt Whisky Centres’ using wine shops, wine bars, pubs and hotels. These oases of Scottish quality offer customers the chance to experience independently bottled cask whiskies and cask strength whiskies backed up with staff training, tasting notes, the right glasses and tasting evenings.

The latest of these centres is "Sullivan’s Wine Bar" in Weybridge. An especially pleasant continental style bar and restaurant of 27 years standing, offering a friendly ambiance that befits fine malt whisky.

Other locations include; Stoke D’Abernon, Odiham, Farnham, Virginia Water, Windlesham and Eastbourne. Soon to come: Windsor, Woking, Alton and Puttenham,

This mission into the darkest reaches of the Southern Counties is gathering momentum and it is the intention of Hutcheson Whisky Events to have a Malt Whisky Centre in most towns over the next 2 years. So watch this space…..
