MISSION STATEMENT

SCOTSIN (Scots In London and beyond) aims to promote and connect Scots and Affinity Scots, Scotland and Scottish themes. This covers social, business and cultural networking, news and events etc.

> SCOTSIN is a portal for Scots individuals, Scottish businesses and companies, clubs and societies, charities, networks and communities, bodies, agencies and organisations to connect and promote themselves, their key category, sector and industry news, events to the Scottish community.

> SCOTSIN is the centrepiece for the Scottish diaspora - a solid, modern, fast-growing, dynamic, passionate, diverse, apolitical and independent network for Scottish clubs and societies, businesses, charities and individuals.

> SCOTSIN - 36% of SCOTSIN are female and our Scots In London email newsletters have put us at the forefront of promoting Scottish interests in London.

> SCOTSIN is aimed at all Scots and friends - ordinary Scots from all backgrounds, members of Scottish clubs and societies (presidents, secretaries, webmasters), Scottish professionals (chairmen, chief executives, board members, trustees, business people, entrepreneurs), consumers, sellers, wholesalers, recipients of charity, business managers, Tartan Army footsoldiers, students and housewives. We’re all Jock Tamson’s Bairns!!!

The directory is free to search but costs £XXX pa to be part of. A subscription to post an unlimited number of news releases is £XXX+VAT pa. SCOTSIN have big plans for development and expansion and aim to become synonymous with the word "Scots" and be an anchor point for Scots around the world. Our new website is the beginning of a new era for SCOTSIN and our Scottish business club will follow soon thereafter.
 
SCOTSIN aims to become as global as whisky, as skilful as Kenny Dalglish, lead by example like Gavin Hastings, have the wit of Billy Connolly, the linguists of Stanley Baxter, the coolness and star qualities of Sir Sean Connery, the cheekiness of Jim Baxter, the sobriety of the Reverend I.M. Jolly, the business acumen, entrepreneurial and philanthropic spirit of Andrew Carnegie, Sir Tom Hunter and Sir Tom Farmer, the innovativeness and inventiveness of Alexander Graham-Bell, John Logie-Baird, the courage and determination of Chay Blyth, the scene of adventure of Dame Elen MacArthur. SCOTSIN AIMS TO CONNECT AND PROMOTES:

* To encourage ALL Scots and global friends to sign up to ScotsIn (all ages, all backgrounds, an ecletic mix - we're all Jock Tamson's Bairns);

* To work with existing Scottish groups and new Scottish groups and serve the scheduling and informational needs of the Global Scottish Network*;

* To work to establish a solid relationship with the Scottish Parliament and Scottish Government***;
 
* To create the pre-eminent dynamic Global Scottish Network* “for Scots and Affinity Scots (global friends). ScotsIn - (fresh, modern, innovative, entrepreneurial, spirited) to promote, inform, activate, educate, enrich, inspire, motivate, connect, complement and support ALL Scots, Scotland and the best blend of all things Scottish (traditional and contemporary) for social, pleasure, cultural, business and fundraising purposes for mutual benefit via Networking, Events, News and PR:
  •  
    • > Scottish Individuals;
    • > Scottish Businesses and Companies;
      > Clubs and Societies;
      > Charities;
      > Networks and Communities;
      > Bodies, Agencies and Organisations;

* To assist in positioning Scotland, as a nation, as a dynamic place to (a) visit; (b) invest; (c) live; (d) work; and (e) hold events by highlighting Scotland as a key world destination and key centre for entrepreneurship, events, lifestyle with friendly people and diverse top attractions.

> 11.3. SCOTTISH THEMES - THE BEST BLEND OF EVERYTHING SCOTTISH
* To promote Scottish social and business events where members can meet, exchange ideas and learn from each other;
 
* To promote and raise awareness of Scottish Culture and our Festival spirit;
 
* To become the pre-eminent source for social and business networking, cultural, historical, educational genealogical and information outside of Scotland (excluding the United States).
 
* To promote Scottish events where members can meet, exchange ideas and learn from each other - Networking, Events, News, PR.

* To promote and raise awareness of Scottish Culture, such as:

    •      - promote the Scottish language;
  •      - promote Scottish music;
  •      - promote Scottish dancing;
  •      - promote and hosting a Scottish book fair;
  •      - promote and assist in planning an annual Scottish festival of Scottish music;

  •    - promote and assist in hosting and facilitating a range of conferences, debates and meetings on various issues of concern to the Scottish community as well as informing the broader community of the complexities of Scottish culture and history.
