The all important Candidate City File (CCF) that will contain Glasgow’s plans for hosting the 2014 Commonwealth Games will be designed by Navyblue Design Group, it was announced today.

Glasgow 2014 Head of Marketing, Lynne McPhee hands over the Candidate City File to Bernie Shaw-Binns, Design Director of Navyblue.

The Candidate City File (CCF) is a critical part of the bidding process. It contains detailed plans on the sports, the venues and the infrastructure that will be used during the Games should Glasgow’s Bid be successful.

Navyblue has previous experience in this area having designed the CCF for the joint Scotland/Ireland bid for the UEFA Euro 2008 Championships and the London 2012 Olympics.

Glasgow 2014 Head of Marketing, Lynne McPhee said:

“It was absolutely essential that we chose the right company to design our Candidate City File. This document lets us speak directly to the voters, to show them, in great detail, exactly what a Glasgow Games would look like.

“Navyblue brought with them a creative flair, a knowledge of bidding and a passion for sport that matched our own. Their ideas will make sure that we have a document that is comprehensive, but easy to read – informative but also exciting.

“We are delighted that they have joined our team. Working with them will make sure that our message to the voters is clear. Glasgow and Scotland are ready to win.”

Bernie Shaw-Binns director of Navyblue Design Group says:

"The Commonwealth Games is a fantastic opportunity for Glasgow to further underpin their credentials as a world class City worthy of hosting such a prestigious sporting event. And it’s a great opportunity for Navyblue Design Group to draw on our sports branding and bid process experience. We feel confident that we are best placed to create a dynamic Canditure File and a great opportunity for the people of Glasgow and Scotland”.

Shaw-Binns goes on to say “We are committed to working closely with the bid team to ensure that we produce a canditure file that successfully showcases Glasgow, creates real excitement and convinces the voters that Glasgow and it’s people are THE city of choice to host the 2014 Commonwealth Games.”
