Glasgow 2014 have jump-started their new website as the decision on which country will host the Games draws closer. The freshly designed site will be a vital tool in spreading the Bid message to the Scottish public and to friends around the Commonwealth.

Full of new state-of-the-art graphics, interactive features and games , the website showcases Glasgow, the people and the communities involved in helping Scotland win the Games, and invites even more people to join the 1.7million organisations and individuals who have already signed up to Back The Bid.

Key features of the re-designed website include:
• Guides to each 2014 venue, with Computer Generated Images of how the major facilities will look in the future
• Links to the key 2014 Bid documents
• Briefings and breaking  news on the Bid, as well as images available to download
• Complete listings of the 1.7 million individuals and organisations who have signed up to Back the Bid and an online form for more people to pledge their support
• A unique game, The Long Jump Challenge, which just like the real sport, tests speed, skill and timing on the approach, take-off and landing. Players can invite friends to try and beat their score by sending them the game via email, so give it a try!

2014 Bid Director Derek Casey said: “Our new website is crucial in telling everyone what the Bid is all about. We really want the public here in Scotland, as well as potential voters overseas to see our fantastic range of venues, our plans for each sporting event and to get a sense of the excitement and atmosphere around the Games.
“Glasgow2014.com is the main point of contact for the public to find out about the Games and of course sign up to Back Scotland’s Bid. The re-designed site will help us communicate the complete vision we have for 2014.
“The 2014 Games will be an incredible experience for athletes, spectators and viewers around the Commonwealth, showing the world that Glasgow is an amazing city in a spectacular country.”
