Help for Children
Help will be provided for your child at school if it is needed.
 
Many special educational needs can be addressed quickly and with simple measures, if they are identified early on.
 
A very small number of children experiences profound, specific or complex needs.

Special arrangements will be made to assess your child's needs and situation.
 
 
Special Needs
Children with special educational or additional support needs are educated within ordinary (mainstream) schools wherever possible, where this meets the best interests of the child.
Local Authorities decide the kind of specialist needs provision they wish to make for their pupils but most pupils are given a specialist 'learning support teacher'.
 
 
Language Difficulties
If your child needs help with learning English this is called an 'additional support need' and will be provided.
