Taxi

Many private taxis are available to hire for short journeys around Scotland, including licensed black cabs and minicab services.

You can find details of local taxi companies on the internet or in local telephone directories.

Car hire

You can also hire cars from various private hire companies. This is often cheapest and most flexible way to tour round Scotland.

Most companies require the driver to be between the ages of 23 and 75-years-old, with a current driving licence having been held for at least one year.

Should you require to pick up a car in one town and drop it off at another location, please note there may be a surcharge.

Find out more about hiring a car, including car hire companies via the VisitScotland car hire webpages.
