A message to "Scots in London" from Nick Evans, General Manager of London Scottish (Rugby) FC - London Scottish News. Hope all our fantastic members are well and enjoying a cricket, golf, Lions (boo) and BBQ filled summer. Whilst the off season is traditionally a time for all fans and members alike to take a break from the relentless drive of Rugby. We at the club have dusted off our flip flops, stubbed out the cigars and are busy planning and preparing for next season's promotion push.

All who attended the London Scottish FC AGM and have read the newsletter will know that membership rates WILL NOT be increased next season, in fact we are looking to make it even better by adding to the benefits of being a member of London Scottish.

A big thank you to all members who have stayed with the club through thick and thin and a Big plee to ex members or 'floaters'. Come and join the London Scottish family - This is the club to be part of!

A. LSFC Youth Development Scheme
One of our aims along with promotion is to build a better future for the club. This means investing in our future. In short we require better coaching, organisation and 'outreach' to schools and local community groups to:

  1. Get kids playing rugby at LSFC;
  2. Encourage kids to keep playing at London Scottish through better coaching; and
  3. Develop kids through the age ranges to deliver them to the senior sides - Effectively create a 'production line' of talent to create a healthy future for the club.
This requires funding. We are applying to Government and local trusts, however this is a direct appeal to you, to contribute to a Community Development/Youth Development Officer who will help us build a solid foundation for the club and deliver our goals.

This is the principal fund raiser for the club for next season, and so far LSFC members donations have totalled £2,000. From individual donations from £25 to £1,000. So if you are a London Scot and care about the future of the club. This is your chance to help us build a solid foundation. Email your pledge, send a cheque or credit card payment to the office or simply ring for further details on 0208 940 8289. Your help is greatly appreciated.

B. Scots In London Quarterly Charity Drinks Reception - Wed 6 July 2005.
I have forwarded information of the quaterly 'Scots In London' drinks bash next week. It is a regular social and networking gathering of Scots based in London, it is a great night out and a fantastic chance to make loads of new contacts and friends.

Many London Scots attend the evenings and the club are fully supportive of the 'Scots In London' event calendar.

Thanks for all your assistance in advance, enjoy the rest of the summer. Membership Renewal forms will be sent out within the next 10 days, in the meantime if you would like to renew your membership please email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it and we will arrange details.
